Anyone who knew Virgil can attest that his actions spoke louder than his words. While quiet and unassuming, he was an intelligent man who had a quick wit and could fix virtually anything. Waurane had a talent for quilting and enjoyed sharing her artistic creations with friends and family. Many memories will be cherished by her skillful hands. Being an avid Longhorn fan, she cheered them on every opportunity she had to watch. 47865	“‘Quentin,’ as he was known by his family and friends, was born in Burley, Idaho on February 21, 1919 to Cecil Woods and Ethel Dobbs Woods. The family moved to Anderson, Missouri, when Quentin was a few months old. He had two brothers, James Woods of Muskogee, OK, and Robert Woods (deceased) of Anderson. Quentin was a graduate of Anderson High School, Class of 1937. His first job out of high school was with the Tatum Motor Company in Anderson. His employments as a sales representative for the Mopar Parts Division of the Chrysler Corporation included Jardon-Brelsford Motor Company of Joplin, Arkamo Parts Inc. in Springfield, and 4-State Motor Parts of Tulsa from which he retired in 1982. “Quentin enlisted in the US Navy in March of 1942. After basic training, he learned to operate and maintain the arresting gear used on aircraft carriers. In 1943, he was assigned to the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Corregidor, which was involved in four major campaigns in the Pacific Theater, and earned the rank of Flight Deck Chief. He was discharged from the Navy on November 30, 1945. “He married Wilma Jean Hardy of Southwest City, MO, on September 25, 1949. They spent 65 wonderful years together and raised two daughters. He was a member of Forest Park Baptist Church for 65 years where he served as a Sunday School teacher. After losing their home in the May 2011 tornado, Quentin and Wilma moved to Fort Worth, TX to be close to their daughter, Nancy, and lived first at Legacy Senior Residences, then Trinity-Courtyard Retirement Community.”	WOODS, Orville Quentin (I55973)

She was a member of the Tabernacle Choir and a member of the Layton Arts Chorale Ensemble. She had served on the Syracuse Elementary PTA board.
