    • Wesley grew up on the family farm near Round Top. He attended school in Warrenton through 7th grade and attended church at St. Paul’s Lutheran in Warrenton. After marrying Lonie he farmed for several years in the Winedale area before leaving for service in World War II. He served in teh Philippines and New Guinea in 1944 and 1945. The entire family worked in the business, including buying eggs from farmers and washing, candling, grading and packing the eggs. After the older children left home and about 20 years in the business, Wesley retired. He opened Albers Grocery on the square in Round Top, operating it for about five years. His heathe then began to fail.
