- The Goettsches lived in West Texas and New Mexico. They moved to Sweetwater with their three daughters in 1943. Gus began working for the Santa Fe Railroad in 1924 and retired with over 42 years of service in 1966. He and Helen lived in Llano County on Lake LBJ following his retirement. Gus was an avid golfer.
