“Loraine was born on November 14, 1921 on a farm near New Braunfels, Texas to Egon and Linda Neuse.

“After graduating from New Braunfels High School, Loraine worked in the County Agent's office in New Braunfels from 1938-1946. She met her future husband, Arnold R. Wetz, at a dance at Echo Hall in 1938. After Arnold returned from WWII, the happy couple united in marriage on April 27, 1946, a partnership which would last over 57 years.

“After marrying, Loraine and Arnold moved to San Antonio where she worked from 1946-1951 for Swift & Co. In 1951 they moved from their very small apartment in downtown San Antonio to the home they built in Alamo Heights. One of the drivers for settling in Alamo Heights was to facilitate visits with family in New Braunfels. This modest residence would be her home for the next 60 years and is where she raised, entertained and unconditionally loved all of her family.

“Her role as loving mother began in 1951 - teaching, encouraging, listening and caring for her children as only she could. In 1986, she began extending that love to her three granddaughters who brought so much joy into her life. Loraine's priorities in life were clear from beginning to end - love her God and share His love with family and friends.

“Her confirmation verse of "seek ye first the kingdom of God" summarized her work in her beloved Bethany Congregational Church as a Sunday school teacher, Women's Guild member and supporter of the annual German Christmas Candlelight service.”

Loraine married Arnold Robert WETZ on 27 Apr 1946. Arnold was born on 8 Jun 1912 in Guadalupe County, Texas, USA; died on 9 Nov 2003; was buried in Sunset Memorial Park, San Antonio, Bexar, Texas, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
