    • Garner Burleson graduated from Sulphur, LA High School in 1934 where he was a member of the first Golden Tornado football team. He graduated from Southwestern Junior College in Summit, MS, then attended Loyola University in New Orleans. He was co-owner and operator of Garner's Variety Store in Sulphur. Upon the closure of the store, he worked at Lansing Button Company of Lansing, LA. After his retirement, he was tax collector for the City of Sulphur for eight years. At the time of his death he worked for the Ward Four Marshall's Office. He was a member of the Cornerstone Alliance Church. [2]
