Notes |
- “[Scotty] graduated class of 1950 from Cedar High School and went on to play football at Branch Agricultural College.
“While at college, Scotty was drafted by the United States Army, but continued his football career, playing at Fort Rucker, Ala., and Fort Benning, Ga. In 1954 he was named to the Camp Rucker All Star Team, one of the top rated teams in the army. After his tenure in the army, he joined the Las Vegas police force.
“Scotty was an option for the Chicago Bears and the San Francisco Forty-Niners in 1954, while employed with the Las Vegas Police Department under Sheriff Ralph Lamb. His football career fell short after he was injured in the line of duty.
“Following the accident, he worked in the casino business until retirement. Scotty was an avid outdoorsman and spent his summers fishing and winters hunting at his cabin on Lake Navajo, Utah for nearly 60 years. When he wasn’t at the cabin, Scotty could be found building model airplanes, racing model boats or restoring cars and building inboard racing boats on Lake Mead. However, his greatest pastime was spending time with his family.” [1]
