Notes - “[Ruffin] was born and lived in the Cypress Creek Community of Duplin County, NC for many years. Ruffin graduated from Richlands High School. He earned his Bachelor's from East Carolina University and achieved his Master's degree from the University of Maryland. Ruffin taught in the Duplin County, NC public school system. He also worked in several different school administrative positions in Prince William County and Spotsylvania County, both in Virginia. Ruffin retired as principal of Robert E. Lee Elementary School. He was a dedicated member of Hope Presbyterian Church. Ruffin enjoyed food, spending time with his family, farming beef cows, antique tractors, gardening and camping.” [2]
