Notes |
- “[Dal was] born on February 10, 1929 as the firstborn to Josephine Prows and Edwin Charles NaDal. As a family they moved around the country a lot following his father's career. Dal attended 12 different school and eventually graduated from La Jolla High School in 1948. Upon graduation, Dal enlisted in The Air Force serving in The Korean War from 1948 to 1952. During his service he was stationed in The Philippines and Japan. Upon leaving the Air Force he moved to Oxnard where his family had settled. There he met and married Lois Arlene Lautzenhiser in 1954.
“Dal attended Ventura College and subsequently graduated from USC in 1957 while he and Lois were living in Granada Hills. Dal worked for LA County and Hughes Aircraft and in 1968 the family moved back to Oxnard where they owned and operated Lautzenhiser's Stationery Store from 1972 thru 1988. Lautzenhiser's Stationery was a family owned and operated business in the county for over 70 years, run by three generations.
“He was a proud member of The Oxnard Noon-Timers Lions, USC Trojan Club, Ventura Retired Men's Club, VFW, American Legion and The Elks Club. After retirement he and Lois enjoyed road trips throughout the US and traveling abroad. Dal was grateful for the wonderful friendships and social outings he developed over the years; a special group to him was his ‘coffee club’ gatherings downtown Oxnard.” [2]
