  “Marvin Earl Westman was born December 26, 1920 near St. James the son of William and Magdelena (Meyer) Westman. Marv was raised and attended rural school in the Godahl area. On December 18, 1943 he was united in marriage to Shirley Weide. The couple made their home near Godahl. Marv was a life long member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. James. Marv farmed in the Godahl area and was a corn seed dealer for many years. He also ran Westman Service in Godahl. Marvin enjoyed watching baseball and softball, playing pool and playing cards. He was also a Vikings and Twins fan.” [5]
