  • Notes
    • Wenzel was one of the early settlers of the area around Nechanitz in Fayette County, Texas, and is said to be the first Bohemian settler in Fayette County. The area was originally known as Long Prairie, but was renamed Nechanitz after the city of Wenzel’s birth. He served as one of two Republicans in the 20th Texas Legislature in 1887. He represented House District 70. [2, 8]
